Live for Samsung Tizen, in plain terms.
Live for Tizen runs natively on Samsung Smart Signage Platform displays, using the Tizen system-on-chip built into the panel. The display is the player. There is no external box to buy, mount, power or replace, and it connects straight to the Live CMS, cloud-hosted or self-hosted.
That changes the install more than it sounds. A screen with an SoC player needs one power feed and a network connection, and the back of the mount stays empty. For a retail fit-out, a hotel lobby or anywhere the screen sits flush against a wall or inside joinery, removing the player box removes the part of the job that usually causes trouble.
Live is developed to keep current with Samsung's Tizen releases. SSSP5, SSSP6 and SSSP7 are supported, and SSSP10 is supported on player release R207 or R301 and newer. Because Samsung ships a lot of model series across those chipset generations, we publish the tested-model list rather than asking you to guess.

Do we need a separate media player for Samsung screens?
No. Live for Tizen runs on the Samsung Smart Signage Platform chip inside the display itself. The screen needs power and a network connection and nothing else.
Which Tizen chipsets are supported?
SSSP5, SSSP6 and SSSP7 are supported, and SSSP10 is supported on player release R207 or R301 and newer. Our compatibility list breaks this down by Samsung model series.
How do we check whether our exact model works?
Use the Samsung Tizen compatibility list, which shows Samsung series by chipset generation, marks which have been tested, and flags models with restrictions such as landscape-only orientation.
Does it work with a self-hosted CMS?
Yes. The panel connects to a cloud-hosted Live CMS or one self-hosted on your own infrastructure, over HTTP or HTTPS using TCP/80, TCP/443 and TCP/9505.
Can Tizen panels drive a video wall?
Not through Live. Video wall output, where one layout spans several physical panels as a single canvas, runs on the Windows and BrightSign players.
Can we mix Tizen with other players on one network?
Yes, and most estates do. Tizen panels, LG webOS panels, and Android, Windows, Linux or BrightSign players all run from the same Live CMS on the same schedules.
