The reseller programme, in plain terms.

Becoming a digital signage reseller with LiveSign means you buy the Live platform at a published discount and sell it on under your own branding: a $5,000 one-time setup fee, 5% off plans and selected products from then on, and your logos in place of Live’s across the CMS and the players your customer uses every day.

For a systems integrator or AV installer, the arithmetic is usually not the discount. It is the two years and the engineering team you do not spend building a CMS, a scheduler and six device players, on a product line your customers keep asking for. The signage software becomes something you already have on the shelf when the question comes up mid-project.

The rest of the revenue is yours to build: installation, content design, screen supply, monitoring, the support relationship. Those are the parts a customer cannot buy from a website, and they are the reason a reseller line in this category tends to be worth more than the licence it sits on.

What follows is the whole arrangement as published: which programme fits, exactly what the discount covers, what you are taking to market, and the one term that will bite if you sell outside GMT.

WHICH ONE ARE YOU

One question decides it: whose brand does the customer see?

Answer it before you look at the fees. Two of these three answers cost money and one of them costs nothing at all.

Your brand, in the software

APPLY FOR RESELLER

The CMS and the players show your logos instead of the shipped Live ones, and your customer sees your company as the vendor. $5,000 one-time setup, 5% discount on plans and selected products.

The Live brand, leveraged

APPLY FOR DISTRIBUTOR

You resell the products with the Live branding intact and use its recognition with your customers, at the deepest published discount. $25,000 one-time setup, 15%. Channel Partner sits between the two at $10,000 and 10%.

Neither — the account stays yours

NO APPLICATION NEEDED

Buying Live for screens you own, or running it for a client as a managed service while you remain the account owner, is not reselling. There is nothing to apply for and no setup fee. Buy the plan and start.

WHAT THE DISCOUNT COVERS

Four things, and that is the whole list.

Your 5% applies to these once the application is accepted and the setup fee is paid. If something you intend to resell is not named here, ask before you build a price around it rather than after.

Cloud hosting

Hosting for a cloud-hosted Live CMS, at your tier’s discount.

CMS renewals

Renewals for a cloud-hosted CMS, not only the first term. The discount applies each time the account comes round again.

Perpetual player licences

Perpetual licences for Live for Android, Live for Tizen and Live for webOS — the licences a customer buys once and keeps.

The paid plans

Professional, Business and Enterprise. The discount starts once your application is accepted and the setup fee is paid.

WHAT YOU ARE SELLING

The parts of this that win you the deal.

Six capabilities worth knowing cold before your first customer call, each one on a page you can send them.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU QUOTE SUPPORT

The Help Desk runs 8:00 to 18:00 GMT/BST.

That is the published window, and it is a UK working day. If you sell into the Gulf, into Asia-Pacific, or into North American afternoons, part of your customer’s day sits outside it, and the cover for that part is yours to provide.

Plan it as first-line support you deliver and escalate, price it into what you charge, and agree the escalation path with sales before you sign anything with a response time in it. Bear in mind that SLA-based support is a function of the plan, so a customer who needs one belongs on Business or Enterprise regardless of your tier.

There is also nothing published on territory exclusivity, deal registration or lead protection. If any of those decide your business case, ask for the answer in writing in the first conversation rather than inferring one from this page.

Becoming a reseller: common questions

How do I become a digital signage reseller with LiveSign?

Apply to the Reseller programme, which carries a one-time $5,000 setup fee and a 5% discount on plans and selected products. Once the application is accepted and the fee is paid, the discount applies to cloud hosting, cloud-hosted CMS renewals, perpetual player licences for Android, Tizen and webOS, and the Professional, Business and Enterprise plans. Existing Live customers can register as a partner from their account; everyone else starts with a conversation with sales.

What is the difference between the Reseller and Distributor programmes?

Branding. Reseller means the CMS and players carry your logos instead of Live’s, so your customer sees your company as the vendor. Distributor means the Live branding stays and you leverage that brand with your customers. Reseller is $5,000 setup at 5%; Distributor is $25,000 at 15%; Channel Partner sits between them at $10,000 and 10% for partners with a proven Live delivery record.

What margin do I make as a reseller?

The published figure is the discount you buy at: 5% on the Reseller tier, on plans and selected products. What you sell at is your decision, so your margin is that discount plus whatever you charge for the work around it — installation, content design, monitoring and support are usually the larger part of a signage reseller’s revenue. If you need a specific commercial arrangement beyond the published tiers, raise it with sales rather than assuming it.

Do I need a reseller agreement to manage signage for my clients?

No. If you buy the plans and remain the account owner while managing the screens for a client as a managed service provider, that is not reselling and no partner application is required. The application is for the case where your customer becomes the owner of the CMS, the players or the plan. You can also do both by running two separate accounts.

Is white-label branding included in the $5,000 setup fee?

The Reseller programme covers your logos replacing the shipped Live logos across the CMS and players. The white-label build, which changes the application name, icon, splash screen and about text, is a separate one-time charge of $2,100 per brand. Most partners who want a fully branded product buy both.

What support will my customers get?

Help Desk support through their plan, alongside the knowledge base, with the Help Desk open 8:00 to 18:00 GMT/BST. SLA-based support comes with the Business and Enterprise plans rather than with a partner tier. If you sell into time zones outside those hours, plan your own first-line cover and agree the escalation path with sales before you sign a support commitment of your own.

Is my territory protected?

Nothing published states territory exclusivity, deal registration or lead protection, and we are not going to imply terms that are not written down. LiveSign does have named partners in North America, Europe and the Middle East and Africa, so if territory matters to your business case, put the question to sales in the first conversation and get the answer in writing.
