TESTED DEVICE LIST
LG webOS displays, checked model by model.
Tested LG model codes for webOS 3.0 through 6.0. Read the Signage-series warning below before you order, because it is the thing that most often goes wrong.
START HERE
Check the series before the model code.
LG sells three families of webOS monitor: Commercial, Hospitality and Signage. They look similar on a spec sheet and they do not share the same underlying APIs. Only the Signage series running webOS 3.0 or newer works with Live for webOS, so establishing which family a display belongs to is the first check, not the last.
Once you know it is a Signage panel, find its webOS version below and look for the model code. Support runs from webOS 3.0 through 6.0, with 4.0 and 4.1 added in player release R14 and 6.0 in R208, so an estate assembled over several refresh cycles usually runs one player across all of it.
A model missing from these lists is not automatically incompatible. Send us the exact code and we will tell you what we know about it.
WHAT THIS MEANS
- Signage series only
- LG Commercial and Hospitality webOS panels use different APIs and will not run this player.
- webOS 3.0 to 6.0
- 4.0 and 4.1 since player release R14, 6.0 since R208.
- No player box needed
- Live runs on the webOS chip in the display. Power and network, nothing else.
- WP320 and WP400
- Set-top-box devices, not displays. Panel controls are unavailable on them.
- Not listed?
- Send us the model code. Missing from the list does not mean incompatible.
BEFORE YOU ORDER
Only LG Signage-series displays running webOS 3.0 or newer are compatible. A webOS panel from LG's Commercial or Hospitality range will not run Live for webOS, even though the operating system name on the box is the same. Confirm the series and the model code before you place an order.
webOS 6.0(Since R208)
webOS 4.1(Since R14)
webOS 4.0(Since R14)

LG webOS compatibility: common questions
Does Live for webOS work on any LG commercial display?
No, and this is the question that catches people out. LG produces three webOS monitor families, Commercial, Hospitality and Signage, and they use different underlying APIs. Only the Signage series running webOS 3.0 or newer is compatible with Live for webOS. Check the model code against the list on this page before ordering.
Which LG displays work with LiveSign?
LG webOS Signage-series displays running webOS 3.0, 3.2, 4.0, 4.1 or 6.0. Support for webOS 4.0 and 4.1 arrived in player release R14, and webOS 6.0 in R208. The lists on this page give the tested LG model codes for each version.
Do we need a separate media player for these screens?
No. Live for webOS runs on the system-on-chip inside the LG Signage display itself, so the screen needs power and a network connection and nothing else behind it.
What is different about the WP320 and WP400?
Those are standalone set-top-box style webOS devices rather than displays. Panel controls including power, colour, contrast, brightness and button lock are not available on them, because there is no panel for the player to control.
Can the webOS player be used in an offline digital signage network?
Yes. Live for webOS can be used in offline digital signage networks when an On-Premise Licensing Module is purchased and deployed. This add-on is only available via Independent Pricing with perpetual licensing.
How does Live for webOS know what to play and when?
The webOS player connects to its Live CMS over HTTP or HTTPS, downloads the scheduled digital signage, caches it, and displays it from local storage when the time is right. It keeps playing from that local cache if the connection drops.
Our display is not on this list. Now what?
Send us the exact model code. The list covers the LG models we have data for, and a model missing from it is not automatically incompatible, as long as it is a Signage-series panel on webOS 3.0 or newer.
